Massive Open Online Course
'Journalism and Social Media' explored in free online university course.
DUT’s first Massive, Open, Online Course (MOOC) – to be offered in partnership by the Journalism Programme, Department of Media, Language and Communication of the Faculty of Art and Design and CCPE will give participants an understanding of the social media and legacy (traditional) media nexus.
Participants will learn about the utilitarian potential of social media in journalism: Social media as journalism tools; connecting with audiences through social media; enhancement of stories using various social media platforms and ethical guidelines in the use of social media in journalism.
The development of DUT’s first MOOCs has been supported by the University’s e-Learning Project.
